HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETER SINFIELD

The man who coined the name King Crimson, provided lyrics, stage lights and was responsible for the art direction of the first four KC studio albums and much else besides is celebrating his 75th birthday today.

In 1973 while King Crimson were working on the recording of Larks' Tongues In Aspic, Peter Sinfield was busy with his debut, and to date, only solo album, Still in a different room in the same studio. The album features several members of King Crimson including Greg Lake, Mel Collins (who was associate producer and musical director for the record) John Wetton, Boz and Ian Wallace. Keith Tippett also guested on the LP as well as oboist Robin Miller both of whom had worked on Lizard and Islands. After the album was released Peter appeared on The Old Grey Whistle Test with a backing band that included John Wetton and Mel Collins...
